THE MISSION

When I first started working as a QA officer, I was told to go to visit the EudraLex website and read the GMP guidelines.
I did … visit the site. But when I started reading the guidelines two things happened. First of all, I was bored very close to death and secondly, I realized that these documents just state what is expected but they rarely give you any advice on how you should do things. I was so confused that I wanted to quit my job because I just didn’t get it. Fortunately, I met Wilma who explained this world to me.

After a couple more years in the industry and working with different companies I realized that I was incredibly lucky.

Most QA officers don’t have that much support. There is no formal education to become a QA officer.
There are courses, but they are very expensive. And even if a QA manager finds it very important to train people, a lot of times there are just not enough resources.

This is when the idea of Q-Ahh! popped into my head. I was thinking about “Ahh! Now I get it!” when choosing the name. But some people suggested the Ahh! could also be a sound of fear or frustration. I like both 😉.

There are two main goals for me here:

  1. Provide free information surrounding QA and QC topics

  2. Make that information a little more fun

In case you are wondering why the site looks like a fantasy game. Well, QA feels a lot like being on a quest through a dense jungle to me. Apart from that, I like drawing these things much more than office spaces.

And wouldn’t it be awesome if you had friendly QP spirit floating around…

Disclaimer

A word of warning. In case you haven’t noticed. I tend to not take the world too seriously and joke around a lot. We all suffer through enough seriousness in our daily lives. But there is truth in every story. I’ve just tried to make the QA one a little more digestible, so consume with a pinch of salt!

Wilma and I are doing our best to provide accurate information on the various topics. However, we are only human, and we can make mistakes. Also, in a lot of cases there are many different approaches to the same topic, and one is not necessarily better than the other. It is also worth noting that we are based in The Netherlands and are writing mainly for people working in QA/QC in the European Union. Other countries have different rules, so your experiences might not always match with ours.

Let us know if you have another perspective or suggestion on something that we wrote. We are always happy to receive your feedback.
